we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -
this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format - poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

When I read your words about portal, the first thing that sprang into my mind was Alice going through that looking glass! Isn't that weird?!
What an interesting post!
xLola & Nora:)
oh, hi, nora and lola - yes, weird and neat! thanks for dropping by - come again soon - and have a wonderful weekend! jenean
Hey Ms Gypsy!
Loved your portal picture and its unspoken questions.
Several years ago I wrote a re-interpretation of The Trojan Women for actors and dancers, and I'd like to include the scene where the Trojan Women are locked in a room, and they are not certain as to what fate awaits them:
At open, a wall with a closed door, up stage, left to right. This can be constructed, created by dancers/actors, projected, etc.
NARRATOR:
A door is such a simple thing.
It’s an accessory to a hole in a wall.
It opens; it closes.
That’s all that it does.
It is a hole in a wall, interuptus.
VOICES:
A door gets in your way!
Yes, it stops you, it keeps you within!
It imprisons you!
It denies you choice, it destroys your freedom!
No! A door keeps you safe!
Yes, it protects you, it keeps danger at bay!
It keeps you secure!
It allows you to choose, and makes you free.
NARRATOR:
Yes, such a simple thing.
A hole, with a flap, on a hinge, with a lock.
And a key . . .
A key?
Who controls the key, controls the portal.
VOICES:
The doorway to my heart.
Colored enter from rear.
Please take off your shoes and empty your pocket when approaching the gate.
I’d like to choose doorway number two, please.
Knocked, once, tried to tell ‘em I’d been there. . .
The Pearly Gates.
A through G, Door One; H through N, Door Two…
Achtung! After going through that door and showering, you will be reunited with . . .
A prison cell door
An elevator door
The Star Gate.
NARRATOR:
Can there be a doorway, when there is no wall?
What is a portal through a wall that you cannot see.
Or maybe a wall that doesn’t exist.
It’s just a door.
By itself.
VOICES:
A Web Portal?
Portal Georgia, near Savannah? It has a population of 597. I’ve never been there.
“Alice Through the Looking Glass”?
Don’t forget, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”!
Mick Jagger sang “The Goddess in the Doorway”. Is that what you mean?
NARRATOR:
Sometimes, going through door,
A portal
A gate,
Is really just crossing a threshold.
It’s to
Escape what is
Or to discover what might be
VOICES:
To take a risk
To satisfy your curiosity
To be brave
To look for something different
To begin your journey
To be brave.
NARRATOR:
The wall is neither good nor bad
Restriction nor Sanctuary.
It merely requires
That you want more than the wall,
And that you look for the hole,
And are willing to use the key.
To be brave.
Keep on posting, Bob
