Officer Spicer is the first law enforcement officer of the Georgetown Police Department to have been killed in the line of duty in thirty-seven [37] years. Vice President Joseph Biden attended this week's vigil for him in Georgetown: "It wasn't just his profession, it was who he was," said Vice President Biden. "Chad had courage. He was a valiant man. He did his duty." http://www.delmarvanow.com/article/20090905/NEWS01/909050334/-1/newsfront2/VP--Officer-had-courage

how very sad...
thank you for posting this tribute as otherwise, I might never have known, well, surely, I would never have known...
xoxo
Tributes are more important than inspirations. They are a rare blessing of a life lived. So potent! Especially when the life was a daily inspiration.
Thanks for sharing this tribute and all your inspirations.
yes, truly a sad commentary -
both my daughters here know him -
this young police officer is the sole custodian of his three year old little girl - a beautiful child who is the absolute clone of him - she is now with his parents - thank you, linda, and terri, both for leaving such thoughtful messages -
An outstanding tribute...It is so wrong how the good are always taken...
