we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imaginedand/or real - come along with me -we'll danceamong the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire -come along -
this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format - poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -
A...WOMAN
IN MOTION
WITH HAIR
AS DARK AS NIGHT
HER EYES
WERE LIKE THAT OF
A CAT
IN THE DARK...
SHE WAS A
GYPSYWOMAN...
she danced
round and round...
from the fire
her face was all aglow...
she was dancing...
dancing...
waiting for
the RISING SUN...
loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary...
born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]
Ah...gorgeous gypsy Flamenco dancer I LOVED going to see them dance when I lived in Spain...One I remember his name was "El Nino" he was a gypsy...danced with a opera group in Madrid...oh the passion and fire of that dance...nothing compares to it!
oh, marlene, i am SO jealous!!! to see the gypsies dance in person!!! OMG!!! how divine it must have been! thanks for sharing that story - do you have photos? :)
hey lady jo - listen, who could be UNMOVED by his beauty? dear heavens! and my little words come no where near doing his spirit justice! but i thank you!!!
Oh I may have some old pictures somewhere...I'll see if I can find them..What video is this dancer from??? I would love to get it! I love Flamenco music! I saw the Carmen opera also in Mardrid..El Nino" was a full gypsy..he danced with a group there..and from what I rememeber it was a big deal at that time for him to be accepted by the opera group..due to the fact he was a gypsy ( the Spanish people did not like them..they were very much procecuted in the 1970's ) but I loved how they danced and thier free spirit..
hey miss marlene! here's the link to domingo ortega [his name is even sexy!!!] :) so go there and check out the father of my next child! http://www.domingoflamenco.com/presentacion.php in some of his interviews he has said the the US is one of his favorite countries in which to perform - here and in canada - where his group is apparently well respected - i'll have to check out el nino now - yes, about their dance and spirit - there are none to compare!!! not even close!
This is Domingo Ortega from Andalucia, in Southern Spain. I just did my presentation for Spanish class on Flamenco and I used him for a wonderful example to show the beauty of Flamenco music and dance. He is marvelous and his videos are all over youtube. I have a DVD titled, "Living Flamenco," with Domingo and two other dancers who are also great. Buy it if you think his picture is good. You will be amazed at the quality of Art on this DVD. He has the most beautiful muneca, (hands and wrists) and arms in Flamenco. that's only a part of his wonderful style.Such Pellizco and Duende. That's why he's my favorite dancer.

Dark, impenetrable and bad-tempered. A dancer not to be taken lightly.
