i wanna come home
it’s cold here
and dark
cold and dark
don’t wanna stay
but can’t seem to
find my way
outta here
don’t even know
where here is
here is not there
in the heat
in the light
it’s cold here
and dark
cold and dark
don’t wanna stay
but can’t seem to
find my way
outta here
don’t even know
where here is
here is not there
in the heat
in the light
with you
here i’m alone
here i’m lonely
here is sad
full of despair
here is closed
to all traffic
a cul de sac
dead end street
one way in
no way out
here there are
no spring flowers
only a concrete jungle
of hopelessness
a winter of
weariness
no fireplace to
warm the frigid
walls of life
without you
that surround
the here of here
here the air
is thin
breathin’ hard
heart can hardly beat
here the dark days
are long
the darker nights
longer
here there is no
sunshine
here there is
no warmth
no love
no life
here there is
no you
no us
i wanna
come
home
here i’m alone
here i’m lonely
here is sad
full of despair
here is closed
to all traffic
a cul de sac
dead end street
one way in
no way out
here there are
no spring flowers
only a concrete jungle
of hopelessness
a winter of
weariness
no fireplace to
warm the frigid
walls of life
without you
that surround
the here of here
here the air
is thin
breathin’ hard
heart can hardly beat
here the dark days
are long
the darker nights
longer
here there is no
sunshine
here there is
no warmth
no love
no life
here there is
no you
no us
i wanna
come
home
but
where
are
you
where
are
you

Gypsy, what a bittersweet, soulful, heart-rending post! The gypsy in me longs to run to where you are and give you a big dragonfly-princess hug. Sending you love & blessings. xoxo
This is a heart wrenching post in so many ways, Gypsy. Sending you light and all over good things.
Good god woman, I am in the kitchen cooking up a storm, but surely you knew that?
Home is where he is, of course. And if he is not there, then that is no home that I know of, right? The longing and pleading and saturation of absence is absolutely enveloping here, Jenean!

Thank you for these lines. They express in a few words for me the sense of not only loneliness but separation and exile from a loved one.
my dear warden - and surely you know your absence does truly break my own heart, sir! kitchen or not - however, it shall rest easier now knowing 'twas only your bounteous tupperware holding you hostage and the only thing warming your body and soul was your fabulous wood-burning kitchen stove! well, and perhaps that dark red wine and those luscious juicy ripe figs and hot buns i sent you! but never mind all that now - all that matters is the slippery fragrance of vanilla creme wafting this way from your kitchen - yummmmmm.....and what other delicacies might you be stirring and storming up over there, sir?
what a dear dear friend you are lady marion! thank you so much for the beautiful dragonfly-princess hug! have a glorious day!
and dear trish! don't forget, that dark place is but only ONE place from whence i write!!! :)
dearest nevine - and still again you define so beautifully and clearly my own heart and words - as if we are one in spirit - and i think surely we must be! thank you!
thank you so much for such kind words, sarahlah! i am humbled by them! wonderful to see you again! thank you so much for coming by! have a glorious day, lady!
Your words are always amazing, and manage to drive deeply. May I ask if this is your artwork as well? I know that you are a painter, so I am assuming...
oh dear, i see i failed to credit this image in my labels - so sorry - would that it were mine, however, but it is not - it is the work of herbert draper - thank you so much for your kind words, magic!!!
