we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imaginedand/or real - come along with me -we'll danceamong the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire -come along -
this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format - poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -
A...WOMAN
IN MOTION
WITH HAIR
AS DARK AS NIGHT
HER EYES
WERE LIKE THAT OF
A CAT
IN THE DARK...
SHE WAS A
GYPSYWOMAN...
she danced
round and round...
from the fire
her face was all aglow...
she was dancing...
dancing...
waiting for
the RISING SUN...
loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary...
born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]
Oh.I hope all will be wonderful for you in the big move..its hard making a change...but once its done..the new energy that comes with it brings..a fresh new perspective on things...xoxo Marlene
campfire memories are reignighted every time the spark is lit. The fire knows no time and so the homecoming of past and present is felt for all who come round. all that is known is warmth and the bringing together of an eternity of fireside meetings. all friends are together in spirit around the circle of fire.
greetings anne - what a beautiful message you send and i thank you so much for it! loved your place and have begun following you there - am thrilled to have you come along with me here and look forward to seeing you soon and often! thanks again!
hello there marlene - so wonderful of you to come by and leave me a few words - thank you so much! see you when i get all set up again! hugs and love -
gypsywoman, thanx to yourself and other poetry bloggers i have finally decided to post some poems on my blog. My blog was originally just going to be for my paintings - poetry was way too scary! Big thankyous for the courage to do this - shows how powerful the blog can be! lov Dishpan Anne.
I did not comment before, dear Jenean, I could not, and anyway you've got enough followers right now. I would have loved to be this "U" of yours but it would have killed me as you well know...
Winter is almost there, we could have snow anytime now. Temperatures are going down, not bone-chilling yet but it's only a matter of time. You cannot see me around your campfire, so sorry. You would have to keep looking towards the North.
Strange, your comment about my Autumn image. I am so glad that you loved it... it's already late, colours came and went in a flash like the always do. A good rain, a bit of wind, they destroyed that ephemeral splendour so fast...
Do you love Liszt, gypsy woman? Sure you do, of course, how could it be otherwise... this first piano concerto is heart-wrenching at times... And now, this macabre Totentanz!
oh, dear roger - your words leave me wordless - and i thank you for them - about the U of this, you must know that you are always a U of mine, do you not? and i like to think that it would only add to your life as you do to mine -
of winter, you know how i dread its coming, roger - i do not relish in the least being cold - nor can i ever - i need the sun's blazing heat to warm my soul - and/or at least a blazing fire going on a cold wintery night! ;)
and but i do always look to the north for your silent footsteps - i see them here, quietly circling round and round and then just as silently slipping away into the frigid cold again - but i do see them, you must know that, as well - yes?
maybe not so strange my comment of your autumn image - i do love it so - i'll post my little autumn homage tonight perhaps - the magnificent colors have not yet come here - nor did i find any on my trip across half the country - still far to sunny and warm for them i suppose - but change will come all too soon i think - the change of colours - of season - and life - but not, you know, of my strong affection - the other night i watched for perhaps the 100th time one of my favorite movies - the dancer upstairs - with javier bardem playing the male lead - throughout the movie - a magnificent love story on many levels - nina simone sings who knows where the time goes - i am not sure i have ever heard a more beautiful version than hers - ever -
and of course, you are right, dear sir! who cannot love liszt! let alone a gypsy such as me? ;) i cannot wait to get all my little electronics set up and operational so that i can have my bose music to keep me company on the coming cold winter nights - liszt at the top of my list -
it was wonderful to hear from you again - you have been missed - take care - and do come round again soon!

if all we find are footprints near the fire, it is enough to kindle memories and hope. Take care
