we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

to the beloveds who are far away...

days of absence
sad and dreary
clothed in sorrow's
dark array
days of absence
i am weary
...he i love
is
far
away

Hope you aren't missing someone dear Jenean.

The woman in the picture looks so sad and melancholic. I hope her beloved returns soon.

Something for you:

What She Says (about her friend's sympathy)

This is worse than the sleepless agony
of thinking about him, far away,
wandering long among trees
through difficult branching pathways.

This is much worse: I cannot bear to think
of my friend's grief for me,

it's like the deaf-mute's
when he sees at night the suffering
of a dun cow fallen into a well.

Joy always and a splendid weekend :)

we gypsies often wear scarlet ribbons in our hair, map - especially on dark dreary days of absence when our beloveds are far away - and my heart sings now, too, knowing that the mighty phoenix continues to sing ;)

was wonderful to have you visit, dear friend, and i hope you will come again soon and often! i love coming by your place where one can see the portrait of a family filled with love for each other - something very rare -

dearest susan! how magnificently beautiful these words you send me - what can i say! i love the phrase "the sleepless agony of thinking about him, far away" - how exquisitely perfect! they are truly beautiful and i thank you so for them - and now i shall have to read more of this poet's works -

it is summer here at last - 101F degrees when i went out earlier and with the heat index, somewhere above that figure - but it's a gorgeous day here and i love going out into the heat - it's sometimes as if my very heart needs to feel the warmth of the sun - do you know what i mean?

thank you again for thinking of me with such sweetness, susan!!! and have a glorious weekend, dear!
