we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

Cold and alone
Fire's so small
Cold and alone
Where's the warmth?

Bare feet on a cold, humid ground - Cold seeping through to the heart - No small fire will ever be enough - No wonder she's not smiling!

If you have lived the life of a gypsy, smiles are few and rare, they are kept for those we love most ..The fire may be small but the gypsy heart burns alone and gives off a warmth so we will never feel cold...

... because of course, laughter is a fire in its own way. Life can be nothing but a tragedy without laughter resonating like bells.

A woman's laugh.

I also thought about loneliness watching this, but Jenean have thrown away it. Why not flamenco?

I must find a satra of Gypsies to do some shots with their night parties, as they are the greatest dancers and singers.

marius - flamenco! absolutely flamenco! and it would be fantastic to see your work portraying the gypsies doing what they do so well - you are in the homeland of many, are you not? your visits and comments mean a lot - thanks so much for coming by the campfire!

Yes, indeed, I think Romania has the major Gypsy community in the world.

Not all of them are ramblers. Most are settled at their homes, but a very small groups are nomads, traveling from town to town with covered wagons. Free as birds, without constraints, no identity papers, only the "satra" (read something like "Shatra"), meaning group, large family.

I just got several month ago a few songs with their original music and it is beautiful, as your gypsy girl: sad, still loving, happy, still sober. Beautiful.

oh, how i would love to visit their world, our world - your wordpicture brings such flowing images to mind! is the music you got in the form of a CD? perhaps you would be kind enough to pass on the artist[s] -
it is a chilly rainy day here - actually, i'm very cold at the moment - time to adjust the temp - brrrr...and then out and about for a taste of it all - i don't always go out as much in colder weather - but am in the mood today! thanks so much for the beautiful wordpicture today - oh, lest i forget, the gypsy is dancing tonight! [just finished today's post] - enjoy!
