we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

the next coming of the mighty bird...

the mighty phoenix
is a mighty bird alright
a mighty bird indeed
he wafted into our world once
it seems so long ago
was he ever not here

came from the ashes he did
just as he was meant to do
rising once more above it all
above the debris of life down here
rising into the brilliance of the sun
to shed his light below

he had come that once into our lives
bringing truth and beauty and light
into our world into our hearts
but then he was called
to another place
in another time
and on his mighty wings
he bravely and fearlessly flew
away
from
us
to where he had to go

and in that other place
in that other time
he was lost to us
lost to our world
it was a time
when our world
was, in deed and in fact,
darkened
and
lost
without him
without his presence
without his mighty voice
his bountiful beautiful words

and then
we were blessed by the gods that be
for the mighty phoenix was returned to us
and to us did he come
bringing once more truth and beauty and light
in his mighty voice
with his mighty words
and our world was a better place
a brighter place
for his coming

but
all too soon
the gods that be
once more became displeased
or so it seems
and called the mighty phoenix
to another place
in another time
and to the other place in that other time
the mighty phoenix has bravely and fearlessly flown
away
from
us
to where he has to go

and so it is
that now we wait
we wait
for his coming again
we wait in our world
darkened by his absence
empty without his words
we wait
for the mighty phoenix
to rise once more
above it all
and with him bringing
truth and beauty and light

for he is
the mighty phoenix
the mighty phoenix who
came from the ashes he did
just as he was meant to do
rising once more above it all
above the debris of life down here
rising into the brilliance of the sun
to shed his light below
here
with
us

we
wait

thinking of you,
our pal

Fantastic. Such energy in the words and image. I can almost hear this set to music, Gypsy. That'll be your next creative endeavor!

what a beautifully powerful poem, gypsy dear, i did feel dancing or rather a pulsing in reading your words....your writing is very powerful lately, speaking of something, of course, i know not what :) as you are so secret in your life-sharing with us...but in your words much can be read anyway. much lovexx

and you see, dear lovelylinda, i actually feel as if i have bared literally my soul to all of you here - i have - i have bared my soul - my life - in my words - the essence of me is here in visual and written form - what more might one want to know of me? - my soul is here - naked to the core - vulnerable - here - shared with all of you - my me - the me of me! ;)

Gypsywoman,
What beautiful and powerful imagery you create both in your visual art work and your poetry from the heart. Even though I do not know the specifics of your daily life; I can feel the intensity of your life right now, the power of your heart and soul, through your works. Thanks so much for sharing.

PS I've always loved the imagery of the Pheonix and you have done a wonderful job of portrying it.

YEE - what a kind note you've left me - for which i am more than grateful - yes, there is something magical - potently magical - about the mighty phoenix - whether he comes in human form or on mighty wings - so it's really easy to write of him, about him, to him, as the case is here - and this mighty phoenix is mightily missed by us all - and so - we await his return - another friend of mine said recently that she thinks perhaps we are/were all a phoenix - and i love to think that! ;)
thanks so much for coming by - have a glorious day!
