we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

special request for addresses - real communication in 2011...

greetings, dear friends -  for those who have not already received this message from me via email today, just this morning, one of my dear blogging friends in ireland [thank you, map] posted a request for his BFs' home addresses so that he might send each of us a xmas card this year - it seems that in ireland, one does not send out xmas cards in the year in which a family member has passed on, as he had this past year - so, for this year, he wanted to send as many as possible - the whole thing of holiday cards took me right down memory lane to all the wonderful cards i received all my life, until the virtual world made such handwritten cards almost obsolete -

and so it is that i thought what a wonderful thing it would be for the NEW YEAR of 2011 - to send each of you a "real" card to your "real" home in the "real" world - hence, my request for your "real" address so that i might let you know i'm thinking of you with the new year!

send to gypsywomanworld@gmail.com

And you should have mine too by now! At the very least we might keep some postal workers employed! :¬)

p.s. I stole this idea from another blogging friend, she knows who she is! :¬)

oh, hey map! haven't gotten yours yet, but have an eye out for it, mister! ;)

you're so right about the postal workers and the economy! hadn't thought of that - but what better gift to us all than to help the economy everywhere!

you borrowed the idea from someone else and i've borrowed from you now - and so, here we are, paying it forward [pun intended]!

love it!

xxx to you and yours!

i rest my case, rick!!! that you can't remember last time getting holiday card! well, gear up, cause you're getting on this year!

i must say that i'm so happy that my own children are so good to always always remember me with birthday/holiday cards - whether in person or mailed - and i love getting them so much -

so, send that address from the road, or wherever you are and thanks so much!!!

You got mine, Cousin! This is something my hubby and I do each Christmas! It's so much more personal and meaningful than cyber greetings! We have an elderly close friend, a widow, who includes a printed "letter" with each card, telling all of us about what has happened in her family throughout the preceding year. And often we receive cards with photos on them or in them. We so look forward to receiving these types of communications from folks we love but seldom see, and I hang the cards on a string across one end of the LR so we can enjoy them through the holidays, just like patients in hospitals frequently hang their cards in their rooms.
I am looking forward to my very first card from Shreveport! cj
