we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

the other side of dark...

what is there beyond this dark black place

what must i do to keep the pace
to beat the chase to win the race

what will the gods now erase
from this blank life of empty space
what did i do to fall from grace
how can love not me embrace
what is there beyond this dark black place

would you like to hear the words spoken?

I hate being in that "dark place"! Always a hard place to crawl out of, but believing there is light at the end of the tunnel is a must in finding our way out. Beautiful writing. Wishing you a lovely weekend, my twin. xOxO

my dear twin - yes, a dark place perhaps - but brilliant light and fire just on the other side - hope your weekend is holding you gently - hugs - jenean

your words today so spoke to me as i find myself in this dark black place....and how does one extricate oneself once mired within it all? ah well, tomorrow is another day. and hoping the news is not about how we kill grandchildren. sigh...xoxoxox

and my dear friend! how your words resonate with me! i had an unpleasant experience earlier and it has left me very unsettled - and i confess to feeling rather overwhelmed a bit of late, on other things - in any event, i think we each have our little dark black places every once in a while - and it is dear friends such as you who come along at just the right moment and bring us a glimmer of brilliant loving light that makes all the difference - i hope knowing how much affection i have for you and how i cherish our friendship brings even a smidgen of comfort to you now - and my heart thanks you for sharing your own light with me! hugs - jenean

Yes, that's the attitude gypsy woman, you're a real Leo...there's always a light behind the dark as you said above. I'm a Leo too and I always try to stay positive, even though at times it's very had to do. I liked your poem a lot. I'm a kind of gypsy too...born in Sicily, grew up in the States, lived in India and Bangladesh for 10 years, then 20 years in Rome, now back in Sicily. I miss New York, I miss India. By the way, I noticed you like Japanese movies...me too, my husband is Japanese. My favorite ever is Shall We Dance (the Japanese original one of course:) I'm following you from Trapani, Sicily.

dear ciccia - how wonderful to have you following along from so far away - a land so beautiful, too - at least, from what i know without having traveled there myself - and a gypsy life you've led, for sure! what a magnificent one, at that! yes, i am a true leo and it's always so great to meet another - of course, just from your blog, there were tell-tale signs! and a japanese husband - a life of magnificent diversity in all ways - i do so like japanese films, as you noticed - we seem to have a lot in common - but then, we are both fabulous leo's, after all! thanks so much for following me all the way from sicily! i'm so excited to have you here and hope you will drop by frequently! i'll look forward to it -
