we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

postcards from the caravan...words from the road...

in my dreams of you
i felt you there
with me along the way
soaring gently above

wings spread to the moon and back
gliding in and out of my thoughts
cradling me in the night
in my dreams of you
i felt you

* * *
it's painted all over your heart
you know the place
the place you go when love first starts
when it cuts through deep and sharp
it's written all over your face
you know the place
the place you hide from the race
when happiness leaves without a trace
* * *
do you remember when
way back then
we danced the dance
only two can chance
and you held me tight
all through the night
how i wish with all my might
that i'd just got it right
way back then
when we danced the dance
do you remember when
* * *
missed that first train
and the last train
then i found you
and i've been born again
* * *
now i lay me down to sleep
and in my heart i do thee keep
while my waking heart quietly weeps
for there it cannot you keep
* * *
if i had known you before
if i had shown you before
if i had loved you before
would it be different now?
well, i did
and i do
* * *
in the begin of time
you would be mine
if the seas did not us separate
if the winds did not whisk us apart
and if the heavens betrayed us not
you would be mine
till the end of time
* * *
it was a time of shattered souls and broken hearts
that time when we were ripped apart
a time of fractured nights
and days dissolved into oblivion
it is a time of broken souls and shattered hearts
still
* * *
i was lost in the dark
forgot who i was
then i found you
and i am
who i am
* * *
you're so far away
and i'm here to stay
send me a letter from home
i'm so all alone
pen it with your love for me
fill it with your lust for me
seal it with a kiss
i'm so all alone
send me a letter from home
from far far away

as i drove on my recent road trip
i scribbled little snippets in my notebook -
these are some of those -
enjoy

Wow, was your muse busy! These snippets really do read like your postcards from the road, the stuff you scribbled round the campfire at night, beneath the stars.

thanks - trish - just little snippets but fun to do while driving - i always keep a notebook in my car but have been known to resort to napkins and deposit slips or whatever else i can find -

I loved every scribble, Jenean! But... especially the last. I hope you're enjoying your time away from home.

greetings dear nevine! so glad you scrolled down to read a few of these little things - i love getting letters - don't we all - and i was/am really in the mood for a "real" letter - i think partly because i'd recently come across the letters from a pen pal during desert storm many moons ago and sat for hours re-reading them all - his letters were so wonderful to get - you know, you rip open the letter kind of letter - anyway, just a few weeks ago i found him on facebook - and we've been communicating again - but i was reminded by him of how wonderful it is to receive something personally penned in the midst of everything virtually done -

Girl, I swear we are the same person. I am getting spooked. :) Beautiful poetry, and they make the mind dance...

oooh, good grief and how did i fail to respond when i first read your comment, lady! so sorry - just the result of many long miles and too few days to do them in lately - thanks so much for coming over - i'm so happy you like - yes, it's odd isn't it how the spirit of another can be so close to our own - thanks again!
