we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

i went on down to tha' river...

well, i went on down to tha’ river
my head shakin’ all in a shiver
yeah, i went on down to tha’ river
wanna git me one’a them crowns
you know the ones them’s for heaven found
but that ‘ole spinnin’ river said to me
you ain’t even been spirit wound
you ain’t got nothin’ that’ll git you heaven bound

well, i went back down to tha’ river
my heart quakin’ all in a quiver
yeah, i went on down to tha’ river
wanna wash ‘way all my sins
you know the ones them’s from yo’r skin
but that ‘ole ragin’ river said to me
why, you still livin’ in tha’ devil’s den
you gotta come on back down ag’in

well, i went back down to tha’ river
cause i thought it could deliver
yeah, i went on down to tha’ river
wanna wash ‘way all my sins
you know the ones them’s where love all begins
but that ‘ole stormy river said to me
you can’t git nothin’ for yo’r dark hide
you just gotta take it all in stride

cause you done been tha’ devil’s bride

well, i ain’t goin’ back to tha’ river
and i done sold my soul to tha’ highest bidder!
gonna go on down to tha’ five ‘n dime
and have me a good ‘old time
gonna buy me my own damned crown
next time ‘round
down in tinsel town

yes i am

I too sang this in my head.
Only mine was more bluesy.
(Too much Buddy Guy running 'round my head!)

I heard music when I read this, the twanging of a guitar, then maybe a fiddle and feet stomping thrown in.

hey map - so glad to have you come by - not sure where this little piece came from - just came to me one day a while back - it's very unusual - very - for me to begin a piece and not finish it within minutes - but this one began and i couldn't find the last verse so i put it aside for a while and came across it again yesterday - so there you have it - yeah, it is rather lyrical, to me, anyway -

and would so love to hear you singin' it so you and your boys ought to take this and do some hummin' and stummin' and key strokin' with it at your leisure - or any other piece here -

it's so lovely to have you come over this way, dear lady and i do hope you'll come again soon -

oh, how great to have you drop by here, pat - emil nolde is the german painter whose work i find so mesmerizing - an expressionist, he is known for his brilliant colors i also love - you will see on this blog and on my travel journal i use his images a LOT - they suit me - my words - or so i like to imagine, anyway - again, thanks so much for coming by -

oh, there is another of his works in my travel journal blog's post of yesterday - a bit different than this one - where he uses very dark but brilliant colors -

you can click on the orange lettered box above to take you to the other blog - or go to
http://thegypsytraveljournal.blogspot.com/

and the post below, then deep inside her belly, also uses a nolde image -
