THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

in homage to "invisible memories"...

UNCOVERED KEEPSAKES

things kept
things covered up
keeping things

one of a kind
trinkets of time
trinkets of mine
now just a shrine

once tucked away
not to be seen by the light of day

things i kept
as i wept

pieces of mine
pieces of time

threadbare thoughts
kept for naught

a ring of love left unworn
lives apart shredded and torn

a string of words left unsaid
love unlived left for dead

a strand of memory left unfilled
might as well have all been killed

things i keep
while i still weep

these are the keeping things
things covered up

keepsakes
for my heart’s sake...
~
- a friend recently wrote so beautifully and hauntingly of invisible memories at his post paint it black -
his memories remind me of my own
about which i wrote last year and re-post here
in homage to all those invisible memories
of us all

Invisible memories. I have wonderful invisible memories each time I iron a shirt. I am once again a child watching Her and listening to Her sing as she did the ironing. :¬)

and what a beautiful memory for you and i know that She still sings when she "sees" you as i'm sure she does - odd how even the most mundane childhood [or other] thing can become such a [vivid] invisible memory that stays with us forever - oh, and i used to play the radio full blast and sing along when i ironed - thanks so much for coming by musicman!

this is gorgeous and sumptuous and the way you laid it out on the page also adds so much...the color, the long length of her dress along the edge of the words being said, dreamed, wished, dreaded....very beautiful, my dear. xoxo and i go off to seek new treasures at the end of you little link. ♥

A beatiful, great post, Gypsy. I love that "Fortune Teller" painting of Waterhouse's. I have a pair of earrings made with her image on them I found at Etsy.

I've been wrestling with bad memories (ghosts) all this month. August is the cruelest month here (the heat & humidity suck the very air from your lungs when you dare to step outside) and I hibernate and ruminate. It ain't purty. May September come quickly and give me hope for Autumn. xoxo

oh, so wonderful to have you come by lovelylinda! bringing such kind words with you! you know, i'm a visual person - and a touchy-feely girl - so my eyes "feel" and things have to feel right all the way around! ;)

hey louisiana lady! girl, you know i know all about august at home in the heat and humidity! but let me tell you how much i LOVE it and MISS it, from here on the east coast! august is my birth month so of course, it's my favorite month - love the heat! [as i sit here in my little a/c chilly room] - however, i do also know the physical ramifications of all that oppressive heat/humidity - and just tell me 'bout ghosts/memories! my entire blog at words unspoken is composed by my own ghosts - as is much of what i do here - hope your ghosts soon give you some peace - waterhouse, as my blogs bear witness, is one of my favorites - there's nothing of his i do not love - and especially this piece - your etsy earrings sound fabulous! thanks so much for taking leave of the heat to drop by - wonderful to see you again!

This is really beautiful. And the image and color of the font are so fitting. I think we all have memories like these.

How hard it is to dispense with these otherwise meaningless objects. Things become powerful totems when imbued with our memories, but their power is visible only to their owners' eyes. Your poem is so true and beautiful and you've chosen the perfect picture to illustrate it.

You are so right about these invisible memories. That is why I practice Feng Shui. Lovely words and image! Have a great day, dear lady!

yes, those invisible but indelible memories so hard to extinguish - like a wildfire out of control -

love your description lady louciao - very right on - totems of our past - our memories - and the power of them much more powerful than the present - thank you so much for your kind words and for coming by -

and i, too, louisiana lady, practice feng shui - and how much better and happier my life when i focus on and listen to its tenets - wonderful to have you come by - i was at your place yesterday or day before and once again, my neighbors were coming out to see what was going on over here - with the speakers up and c/z bursting through the windows! ;)
