we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

the battle...

from you
there was no
no thief in the night
sneaking without sound
into the dark
that was my life
stealing
slowly
surely
my love

no
from you
there was
the barging in
the raging stampede
the complete attack
holding unspeakable ransom
in one swift swoop
leaving no option but
the total surrender

of
my
heart
~

I'm not sure if the poem was written to go with the art, or if the art was created to go with words - perfect match.

Beautiful and moving poetry!

Hope you're having a delightful week - enjoying a glass of sweet tea while sitting on the front porch and listening to the birds sing to you.

FABULOUS!!! You have quite an incredible way with words, my dear.....You paint wonderful "pictures"...!

Ahhhhhh yes---The Magnificent Pete Seeger....I saw him In Concert at Royce Hall, UCLA the Spring of 1963....He Was MAGNIFICENT! And dear Peter, Paul, and Mary.....I used to see Peter and Mary Beth Yarrow, (His then wife) at Lee Grant's house all through the early 70's and until Lee & Joey moved back to NYC...Mary, too....What great performers they were....

As to Ms Dietrich---When you opened that Album back in the
50's...And there was that Perfume----Well, as far as I know, know one has done that since. That "album" I believe is available on CD now---"LIVE, AT THE CAFE DE PARIS"....It is worth every penny! (No perfume though...lol)

oh hello naomi! thanks for such kind words - yes, ahhhhhhhhhh....the magnificent pete seeger - be still my heart! what a persona - what a voice - and even on that gloomy overcast day in washington, a brilliant ray of light for us all - i was lucky enough to be right up front at the stage on the ellipse and his voice was just incredible - and peter paul and mary - great performers for sure - and you've such wonderful stories of all these magnificent spirits! i couldn't believe your remembering the perfume! what a marketing tool that was! here's to the one and only Ms Dietrich! [clink!] - now, i'll have to run over to amazon! lovely to have you come by - have a glorious remainder of the weekend!
