we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

rough pages...

weathered words
speak dark the ages

 soft hands dredge
o’er love’s rough pages

barbed wire bound
between torn covers

guarding secrets
of her lover's

as seams of their
dark ancient dreams

rip wide to loose
the tattered schemes

and hearts bleed out
in rushing streams

captive now in rusted cages
lost souls scream in silent rages
wasted lives speak dark the ages

don't know why i seem to be on such a textural kick of late - thanks, trish! ;)

Awesome, Gypsy. I just love your rhymes. So many poets have tossed rhyme to the curb in favor of mere prose. Super write! xo

Your take is always textual, visceral, and true.

hey marion! so great to see you! and i agree about the rhyme thing - i need rhythm and rhyme a lot - not to say i don't sometimes do without it but i do always like to have a rhythm of sorts no matter anything else - i read my pieces aloud all the way through the writing - course, most of them are written in just a few minutes but i still say the words aloud to "feel" them - anyway, so glad you like and so glad to have you come by - hope all is well with you and yours and that you've a marvelous holiday time!

well, the words do come from the heart, trish - and as you know so well, more than gratifying when they are read and felt from the same perspective as the writer's - and you always get mine!
:)

'captive now in rusted cages'
I love the word rusted and remember using it years ago when writing about the rusted chains in deserted houses in Ithaca when the owners fled to other parts of the world after an earthquake.

so do i, pat - love the word rusted - and its meaning - i particularly love the sight of anything rusted - what an interesting story of the deserted houses in ithaca! were you writing a short story??? hope your week is going well - it's turkey time over here - so a week of dashing here and there - etc -

Yes, you sure are good with words, I can always picture what you write. It's not easy to express feeling in writing but you certainly know how to. We Italians are better at expressing them with our hands. Thank you for the compliments...funny you should mention American show...in fact we're aiming at the David Letterman late night show, I've been following him since I lived in New York (many, many years ago). I wrote to him but obviously never received a reply. It's all about connection and money, gypsywoman, it's the same all over the world. But here in Italy it's too deeply rooted to change anytime soon, even though the new government is emphasizing "meritocracy". In Italy it's almost a joke! A big hug! You are so pretty, I love your hair. A big hug from your friend in Rome! I'm beginning to miss my Trapani but we're staying in Rome so that my daughter can find a job, I'm sure you know that you cannot make a living in the music world nowadays. I think all artists actually are affected. So I told her to find a job and sing on the side. But you have no idea how difficult it is to find a job ...in Trapani it's impossible, but I was shocked to find that it's just as bad in Rome. And she even has a degree in Media and Communications. You can have a doctorate and not find a job nowadays.

how wonderful to receive such a nice long note from you - your daughter is very talented and so pretty - i absolutely love the video - nigella is one of my favorite personalities and she really has her pegged! you're so right about connections and money and that whole thing of the global economic climate upon all artists - all professions everywhere - a sad thing - and one which seems to only be growing - in any event, one can only keep on keeping on the best way possible - many good wishes to your daughter and her ultimate success in entertainment!! thanks again for such a lovely note - really wonderful to hear from you - and do come again soon - ciao, francesca!

Wonderful writing and rhyming!! I've missed a couple of posts because the newer blogs I'm following aren't showing up in my reader :(

Anyhow, I manually inserted it again today, so hopefully I won't miss any other gems such as this one! Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hugs, Fiona :)
