we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

south by southwest...

how smooth you slip into my dreams
like a free-floatin’ licorice stream
runnin’ south by southwest downhill
makin’ me wish we was together still
your love seeking salvation in the crevices
etched in my flesh by all those lost faces
of time without life without light
a time like some kind’a biblical blight
time standin’ still in the barren sands
holdin’ me hostage in hell’s bad lands

then come wet blessin’s from blue skies above
washin’ you in with all’a your love
next come the sweet rains pourin’ down
makin’ me wish i could lay down ‘n drown
in your free-floatin’ licorice stream
that slides so swift into my dreams
runnin’ south by southwest downhill
straight to the spot’a the kill
washin’ away all'a my will
makin’ me wish we was together still

south by southwest
downhill

it's difficult to run away from those dreams that make the past look better than it was.

yes, it is difficult to run away from those dreams, isn't it - and all the more difficult to run from those that cannot do justice to the way things were - sigh -

those dreams that bring such a sense of life and reality where you awaken with his scent lingering still...the sound of his laughter on your pillow...

thanks so much for coming by dear lady! wonderful to see you and i hope all is well in your world!

well, back bit by bit, trish - i really like this piece, too - and it really is the result of a couple of recent intense dreams - and yes, i'm including it in first batch - glad you like! ;)

oh, hello dear naomi! thank you so much for your visit and kind comment - i like it, too, i must say - as usual, i had no clue where this was going when i jotted down the first words - and they/first words then just did the rest - i sometimes feel as if i'm just an instrument of something else - my hands, the instrument, the mechanism, to facilitate whomever/whatever it is that does these pieces! ;)

On your other blog, that poem, wow. I tried to comment but couldn't find a place to do so. At any rate, it may well be one of your best, Gypsy.

trish - you are speaking of "it's true" at words unspoken? oh, thank you so very much! i've copied and pasted this comment over there - have no clue why you were unable to leave a comment - were you able to see the other comments at all? i've looked and can't figure out what was wrong for you - but hope this takes care of your having been there! ;)

and as always, your words more than humble my heart! thank you!
