we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

the chamber...

once upon a time in that long ago
before the kiss of death and web of woe

you had it all and you had me
where are we now but in hell’s debris

could you not have walked away
and with my love only stayed

listened not to my own words

turned from that other life undisturbed

your time has come and gone alas
there is no more in the looking glass

whisper now what you intend
wasting away in the dark night winds

of my heart’s empty chambers
do you think yourself more alive

with the morning light
or do you linger here just for spite

is there no beginning nor an end
and each to the other love appends

whisper now what you intend
.

Troubling poem, dear Jenean… are the prospects so dire?

I'm happy to see you back, almost within reach whatever you say.. Stop thinking about life - life's a bitch.

Enemies are many, true friends are few, but those you have, you have for real.

Love you,

Roger

I love your words, Jenean. The pictures you paint of things deep within your heart that maybe only you alone know and yet, they hold deep meaning and these words of yours leave me breathless, as always. xo

Wonderful to have you back! You must include this one in the book, Gypsy. Troubling, as roger notes, but truly beautiful.

oh, dear roger - no, no dire prospects - no dire anything really - just words - about being back - well, yes - with each sunshine filled day a bit more warmth - which is what i need - warmth - and thanks so friends such as you, there is always at least a bit of that - and such kind and caring words from you - i thank you - again - this image seemed the only image for this piece - it's [image] one of my all time favorites of favorites of your work! ;)

oh, dear glynis! it is always always so gratifying to hear such kind words - sometimes when one thinks no one reads no one hears no one feels one's own words, notes such as yours make all the difference - and i thank you - thank you dearly!!! xxx

thanks dear lady trish - back a bit i guess - still just feeling so far removed from a lot of things i guess - but like i mentioned to roger, with each sunshine-filled day the warmth touches deeper and i feel more me again - whatever in the world that means! ;) interesting yours and roger's take on this piece - troubling - because, for me, it was almost an act of exorcism - but then, as roger says of his photography, once your work is beheld by another, it belongs to them, as well - my heart thanks you for your own always faithful words, trish! ;)

so much loss transpires in your words, must be the reason why I relate

GYPSYWOMAN said...

that thing of loss - well, yes, you're right about it in my words - but loss can be a positive thing i think - confirming that which at some point we had - love - happiness - comfort -

thanks so much for coming by and leaving a comment, dear friend!

I am sure that someone with your strength would rise above 'hell's debris'.
I hope so.

My comment has disappeared.
No matter - just appreciation of your words.

GYPSYWOMAN said...

well, thanks so much for the thought, dear pat, although i'm not so sure - sometimes seems as if even the worst - being without him - is better than any alternative - someone else -

OK, muse, get busy. We who are addicted to Gypsy's poetry need some more entries!

Who are you lying to, la Gitane? Only words, you say. Only words. But pray tell me, aren't those words coming from somewhere deep inside?

Now, because of my old age, and what with me being a prophet and all, I dare tell you: shake off that dark aura that seems to surround you and come back to us.

Please.

Roger

i enjoyed it. you cornered what was hurting you, or seemed to. discerning one's motivations isn't easy sometimes. we need people to call us out. we need to study ourselves. this has a dark, warm flavor to me.

so kind of you to say, trish - and true even for me, i must say - that is, that i miss the words that seem to be hiding now or that are in seclusion - they'll be back soon, i know - once the sunshine warms their way! in the meantime, we - i and my muses - thank you - all of you - for your sweet friendship and patience!

and dear roger - you always know what's up with me as well as i - and i thank you for that and always for your thoughts and words - you're right - i'm just muddling through some things right now that no one else can help with - except friends like you who hang around through it all, saying just the right thing at the right time - thank you for that! hugs - j
