we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

SPIRIT SHIPS SAIL...

spirit ships sail
through the black veil

true true love’s done gone astray
seems to have lost its lonesome way

as dream shadows fall
from the dark side of the moon
ripples of time they can’t recall
sleepin’ stars in a blue lagoon

and lost souls mourn their blind eyes
can’t hear nothin’ for the hue and cry
slivers of hope cast to the skies
waitin’ on hearts to open wide

but the crow flies its straight path
headed now to the glory bath
ain’t gonna git in the way of love’s bloody wrath

don’t nobody know deep down inside
where true love’s gone to hide

and spirit ships sail
through the soft pale

Wonderful art to go with your poem, which to me reads like a wonderful song.

These are like Lyrics to a song...! In my humble opinion...you really must find a person who "gets" what your writing to put it to music....!

Love the verse that says waitin' on hearts to open wide. Our world is certainly in need of open hearts. I watch daily as many people I love, that are considered the 'have not's, treated so terribly by those that have. I mourn their souls...the 'haves' that is....I pity them....and with slivers of hope wait for the hearts of the 'haves' to open. It has become increasingly harder to stay in the positive, and non-fearing state of mind when surrounded by hurting hearts...hurting for simple things, like food, work, a home in which to live...all the while being demeaned for not having those things, as if by not having those simple things, makes one seem a loser and easy to mistreat in the eyes of those that do have those simple things.
Really....where is the love....where has it gone to hide? This is the meaning this poem took on for me...at this time....lost souls turning a blind eye to those in need. I'm sure this isn't what you were meaning here...but this is what my heart took from it this morning.....loved this poem.
Beautifully written. And I love the art you've paired with it.

I had refrained from commenting on blogs as of late mostly out of fear...but also because I felt either I was totally out of touch with the mainstream reality...or that the mainstream reality was sorely out of touch with reality....but have come to the equation that x = x....'It is what it is'.

I see by your side bar that Trish has written another book....so excited for the release date. Books are my treasures, and the most simple pleasures I can still enjoy...and Trish's books are a favorite of mine...thanks for the heads up.

Hope you're having a day filled with sunshine and smiles.

oh, dear lady! what a beautiful and meaningful take on this piece you have! truly wonderful - and while you're right -that it isn't the same meaning that was in my own mind when i wrote it - the thing is, once written the words take on a new life given by those who read them and so - it is, as you say, what it is to the reader - your powerful and thought-provoking response humbles me and i thank you - and please - don't ever hesitate to comment on my blogs - regardless of whatever - but i do understand what you mean totally about being out of touch etc - that's where i've been of late - as if on another planet almost - looking around me wondering WTF it all is - what's wrong with other people that they have lost their humanity - their compassion - their hearts - not just for others, but for themselves - anyway, thank you so very very much for your beautiful comment/kind words! the sun is out here today and i hope it shines down upon you and yours, sweet lady! ;)

Thank you so much for posting the cover! I now have you blog on an app called flipboard, so I can see when you put up new posts. Even Nica would love this app.

GYPSYWOMAN said...

oh, how neat, your new app, trish - i didn't realize wordpress didn't allow you to see most recent posts of others' blogs - that's just another thing i do like about blogger - but you all have done great things with wordpress - and nica! you're going to miss her, i know you will! but i'm betting she is not gone - totally - just away - somewhere - keeping watch over things - perhaps even re-appearing sometime in the future - you know what they say: you can't keep some women down! ;)
