we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

river of desire...

that ole river of desire
that molten flow of burnin’ fire
washed away all them words
you’d vowed to keep
an’ black an’ white got all blurred
slippin’ us both into the darkness deep
one glance at a time one touch at a time
knowin’ you were gonna be mine
no matter ever how brief
knowin’ it was gonna end in all that grief
an’ that ole river of desire
just kept on makin’ you a sinnin’ liar
but rivers run rapid down them hills
sweepin’ us both along for the kill
it wasn’t one but two that desired
two hearts of burnin’ fire

an’ that ole river ran mighty steep
holdin’ our love in its fiery keep
couldn’t neither one get a breath
at love’s greatest depth
to save a soul to save a heart
one had to make the start
to swim to shore
an’ stay evermore
livin’ a life without light
never havin’ no love in the night
but leavin’ the other tangle-free
‘stead of bein’ swept out to sea
lost to the serpents that waited for him
losin’ his way in the dark night dim

an’ so it was he made his way
always wonderin’ why she hadn’t stayed
an’ now she sits on that rocky shore
havin’ his love never no more
now that ole river of desire
keeps on burnin’ its mighty fire
two hearts just black black ashes
an’ no one hears her heart’s thrashes...

'livin’ a life without light
never havin’ no love in the night'

But I have my memories which do keep me warm.

AHh ha, the muse is back…

Beautiful words, dear Gitane, beautiful words indeed… I loved reading you once again.

Never forget, it's useless to despair, Life is Life and carries one's own doom. Love is a form of life, you take nothing for granted because life is death and death is death is final.

They forgot to tell us this part of the deal when we were young, see? So life's always a raw deal, the same as love.

Keep on writing, dear lady, so I won't forget you…

Did I tell you that this is a beautiful poem? Well, it is, It is a poem about Life, is it not?

Love is beautiful till it turns to ashes
Life is beautiful tIll it turns to ashes

I is always only a matt of time.

Wonderful to read you again, dear Gitane.
