we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

brownskin woman...

brownskin woman
brownskin woman
you my kin?
dancin’ round in mortal sin
swirlin’ to the strings of a mando’lin
rustlin’ skirts blowin’ in tha wind
hair put up with those fancy pins
arms flyin’ high from tha spirit within
men settin’ round swiggin’ on gin
bettin’ now on who’s gonna win
don’t care when the night’s gonna end
all gonna stay at the caravan inn
so ya’ll come on- let the fun begin
brownskin woman

brownskin woman
you my kin?

oh, hello, dear deboshree! it is so good to hear from you again - i have missed so much all the kindred spirits here the past few weeks, especially those such as you who make my days so bright!

of the little words in this post, i must say that i do love writing of sisterhood - and of brotherhood - i'm just much more acquainted with sisterhood, as one might surmise!

in any event, so good to have you over - i'll see you over at your place very soon!!!

peace and love - jenean

An interesting poem, Jenean. And intriguing.

I wish you a happy New Year.

Your paintings are wonderfully comfortable. I'm so glad that you decided to pick up the brush again. And, I love that you used paint from the home to complete your piece. Beautiful.

hello there again! thanks so much for dropping by, lady! i was a bit hesitant about the house paint thing since it seemed to dry so quickly but it turned out to work almost as well as acrylics so it was fun and both girls loved having the paintings a part of their new homes -

Jenean, is this your painting?

hi deboshree - no, not this one is mine - but the two in the post below are - i did them during the holidays - they were done for two someone elses - but it was wonderful to paint again after having been away from it for a long time - and i can't wait now to get back into it again and do the kinds of paintings i would do for myself - interestingly, this woman however would be something very close to what i would paint if i were just painting for my self - isn't she beautiful?
