we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real - come along with me - we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - share our stories around the campfire - come along -

this site is simply a streamofconsciousness rambling of words and images in which i find meaning and beauty - there is no organized order of thought or format -
poetry painting and writing on love and life and things thereof from the heart and through the eyes of a louisiana gypsy spirit travelin' roads less traveled...enjoy -

THE GYPSYWOMAN WORLD

My photo
A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

do not think it so...

do not think me oh so sad
do not believe it was all bad

no - do not think me so
for i have been where few may go

i have touched the pure white snow
i have seen the mountain’s glow

do not think me satan-sent
do not believe that i repent
no - do not think it true
for i have been where cupids flew

and i have been where few can dare
to shed their life’s blights and cares

i have touched love’s heavenly gates
i have felt the hands of eros quake

where love’s grace did on me bestow
like luscious absinthe spread below

do not think me oh so sad
do not believe it was all bad

i have touched love’s heavenly facade
i have walked where angels trod

i have been loved true
i may now live anew
~

Indeed...Most of the time, it is never ALL Bad--unless it is a nightmare!! (lol) Seriously, I think it is true. Because if something was really 'there', in the first place....it wasn't all bad, no matter how it ended....!

It's really something how these sweet words just flow out of you. I see I missed a few and went back to read them...do you write one poem a day? Or are these an accumulation of your life? So beautiful. I guess it's true....better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all...and now live anew...I like that.

Yes, life is full of good and bad, up and down, it's all experience. Better to try than to have regrets. You sure know how to express your feelings in words, not me...as a typical Italian I use my hands:) I can write LONG, never ending letters, but nothing else, in fact you can see from my blog that I write very little and that's because the more I try to make it impressive or to say something interesting, the more it looks insignificant so I just write the bare necessary. I just went out thinking I'd go and take a walk, but I came right back after barely four minutes. Can't stand the heat, even the pavements are giving off heat, and there's no wind so it's stuffy and hot, so unbearable. I was going to sit in a cafè but there it's worse because the air conditioning is on full volume so one goes from an oven into a freezer, not good at all. It's been like this for a week, a real heat wave here in Rome. Unusual for this period.

hello there karen! oh, girl, i just write when the voices/spirits move me - it isn't up to me at all most of the time, if not all of the time - in the many many moons ago of my teens, i wrote and kept journals etc - and have always jotted down little things here and there - but only began in earnest with consistency when i began my blog "words unspoken" - and now, here i am - sometimes i write several pieces a day - especially when i'm on a road trip - or if i'm out and about - i write a lot of my things when i'm out - outdoors - anyway - thanks for your always wonderful comments - a dark stormy day here with irene showing herself up the coast!!! ;)

greetings, lady in italy! oh, well, i'm definitely part italian then cause i couldn't have a conversation without using my hands - even on the phone! i know what you mean about the alternation hot/cold thing - we've had a gruesome summer here but nothing like my home state of louisiana where the temp for weeks and weeks into months would be above 100F every day - very hard on anyone - today here irene has brought a day of pouring rain and wind - already - hope your days improve - perhaps one of those wonderful ice cream bars would do the trick - at least momentarily! ;)
